Play Production (Period 6)

Course Description

Play Production is a theatre class designed for advanced drama students to explore and expand on pre-existing skills in the performing arts.  More in-depth work is done in basic areas such as improvisation, mime and pantomime, and voice and diction; in-class exercises and activities are supplemented by scene work in areas such as comedy and drama.  Units in theatre history and musical theatre are linked to scene work as well.  Aspects of technical theatre are explored as well as the various careers in theatre.  Students are encouraged to use their skills in the extra-curricular opportunities such as the children's theatre production in the fall semester and the comedy/drama play for the spring semester.
